about
After years of lugging around a big 61-key MIDI controller for live performances I recently decided to buy a more versatile, more expressive, and - let’s face it - much cooler alternative. My new keytar saw its live debut at the Come As You Are queer festival in Exeter on November 12th, where I performed a fifteen-minute set of live-looped improvisations at the evening open mic in the Exeter Phoenix auditorium. I’m still getting used to the physical requirements of performing this way, and my set wasn’t afraid to wear its influences on its sleeve - the guitar noodling at the start was heavily indebted to the intro of Strung With Everything by Animal Collective, and that maraca pulse is Steve Reich through and through - but it’s not too bad for a first glimpse of where my live performance future might take me.
Space rock jams get experimental and slightly evil with zoned out synths and wheezing guitar lines plus soft, sweet vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 20, 2017
A raucous adventure through noise, no wave, off-kilter DIY prog, and the absurdist side of post-punk from Pagan Athletes. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 13, 2023
The Dublin trio melds post-rock and jazz, adding electronic touches, for a signature sound that's energetic, spacious, and resonant. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 2, 2019
Thoughtful ambient from Seattle has elements of drone, experimental, and healing sounds in its musical explorations. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 5, 2019
Lovely guitar-based songs with melodies that occasionally hint toward a slack-key, all with a touch of tender melancholy. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 22, 2023
